How I got here
[ Your paragraph. How you came to perfumery — what you were doing before, what the first material was that stopped you, how long you have been at it. Two or three sentences in your own words is worth more than anything I could write for you. Do not name the country; that stays out until the company has a home. ]
Why I built the application
Because everything available to a beginner was one of two things. Either a forum, which is generous and enormous and completely unnavigable, or a professional tool priced for a house with a laboratory. Between those two there was nothing that would let somebody weigh a formula properly, see what they had actually made, and be told before they wore it that it was over an allergen limit.
So the bench does three things nothing else does together: it weighs to the milligram, it draws the perfume rising and fading hour by hour, and it adds up every restricted substance across every material at once — which is how the regulation actually works, and how a real certificate of conformity is written.
What it will not do
Why the library has photographs
Every other material database in this field is a table of CAS numbers and limits. Perfumery is learned by association — you remember vetiver because you have seen the roots, and oakmoss because you have seen it growing on a branch. So all four hundred materials carry a picture of the thing they came from. It is the most expensive part of the site to build and the part I would cut last.
Why the wheel has a second dimension
Every published fragrance wheel tells you what a material smells like. Not one of them tells you how long it lasts — which is the thing that decides whether your perfume is still there in the afternoon. So on this one, distance from the centre is tenacity. Near the rim, gone in an hour. Near the middle, still on your skin tomorrow. As far as I can find, no other wheel in the world does that.
What I am still bad at
[ Your paragraph, and please do write one. Admitting a weakness in public is the single most trust-building thing a one-person business can do, and it costs nothing. Something true: a family you cannot compose in, a material you have never got right, the part of the craft that still defeats you. ]
Where this is going
[ Your paragraph. What you want Crafted Scent to be in a year — the workshops, the community, whatever you actually intend. Short is fine. ]
